No god, but God

O God
There is no God but you
The living
The eternal
O God
There is no goal but you
The high
The great
O God
There is no better cause then your cause
O God
There are no better words
Then to praise you continuously
O God their is no greater gift
Then knowing you

Allow our souls to depart
And our spirits to reconnect with you
O God their is no better presence then yours
O Lord
Their is no worse fate then to be turned away

O God
Were humbled by you
Your might
Will overcome
Our weakness will be on display
Faces of hope
Faces of dismay

O God there is no God but you
The living
The eternal
The high
The great
The holder of time
The watcher of all
The hearing
The living
The self sufficient

O living
O eternal
There is no God but you

Journey

It is a matter of certainty
That day will come
When none will matter but the One

And yet our aims are different
Each striving for success
Striving for happiness

Our aims will be unmet
When our hearts, our minds, and limbs forget

For were all traveling on a path
And we who would like to meet our Lord
will be met the same by him
And we who would spend every moment of breath denouncing his being
Will be before him with despondent souls
Begging God to go back home
Begging God for a second chance

For some -what we would do for just one glance!
For those who know
the hereafter is home
The present life is the time for growth

I beg of you
As I beg of me
Please don't be blind in this sea of illusion
Please bring your heart to this final conclusion
Where all going to meet our Rabb

Where all on the same journey
So why not hope to meet with him?
Why not face the afterlife hoping for his mercy?
May God bless us all, all of us on the journey

Goodbye Ramadan

Oh God please protect us from the accursed devil (and his companions),
In the name of God, The Kind and The Merciful:

So how many regrets can you count?
Do they take up a mountain?
An ocean or a sea?
Can you count them on your hands?
Do you see them in your sleep?
If your regrets could follow you how many tears would you weep?

Ramadan is gone
Like a soul without its body
We weep for all the things we should have said, should have done together
Do you wish that Ramadan could spend just one more day
So you could fast in the daytime and stay up all night to pray?

Its gone and left us
In a year it will return
But will we be returned?
Will we live to see again?
And if the sweetness of mercy is brought to us
Will we have the wisdom to repent?

Hell is now reopened and shaitan has been set free
Though somehow I feel we've noticed its our souls that are diseased

Ramadan has come and gone
Yet God's mercy is everlasting
Ya Rabb let us pray for the next 6 months for a Ramadan that is accepted and the 5 months till it comes again
To have Ramadan full of long nights and tedious days...

Goodbye Ramadan
Insha Allah we'll meet again
Ya Rabb
Accept our efforts
Making us winners in the end

Ramadan

Dear Lord
Oh Lord
Glory and praise to you
Thank you for your love
In this month
This blessed month
The gates of mercy are opened
Our open enemy
Locked up

The floods of enlightenment
Will wash away all of our past mistakes

Oh Ramadan can't you tell that we've been waiting for you
Praying for a chance to see you through
Oh Ramadan how we've missed you
It seems like every obstacle we've seen has disappeared now that were with you

Oh God this precious decree
To fast and to strive all to be set free
Our desires and whims with the passing of time it seems as though we become blind
But yet in this month
The message of your beloved somehow amplified

Oh God
There is more to life
The desires of the soul
Or to barely do what's right
The lofty principles of the saints are ours to attain
In this month of Ramadan may we continuously praise his name
Leaving Ramadan renewed with hope, our sins non existent and our spirits newly awakened

Better off

You would spend a lot less
Time
Worrying and searching
Fearfully holding on
If your eyes were fixed in the right direction
In the path of perfection
Under his protection

You would better yourself and savour your health
If you turned away
Looking towards the hereafter

You would invest so much less
Not a penny to embrace the greatest of the great
Despair between the eyes when you strive for this life
Contentment when you believe in the next life
When pray is more valued then enjoyment in this life

You would be better off if you read of his mercy
The prophets (peace be upon them) not profits
Deserve your allegiance
The heroes are heroes because they fought their desires
The heroes are the ones who are saved from the fire

We would be better off to compare forever to this life
May Allah show us the truth from his light
And let us pray for mercy instead of respite

Say your prays

Say your prays
The fatiha and your quls
Say your prays
For your niece who was picked on in school
For your nephew
Who sometimes breaks the rules
For the marriage of your dreams
For a child you can love
Say your prays
For your parents
For yourself
That you'll make it to paradise
That Allah make forgives your sins
And grants you his ultimate mercy
Say your prays
For your friend far away and in a lonely place
For your cousin who went astray
For the other who sometimes can't see clearly
Say your prays
For your mother who seldom prays
Or your father whose faith is washing away
Or your sister who can't tell right from wrong
For your brother who can't seem to get along
For your neighbors who constantly argue and fight
For the peers who don't understand the sadness layered behind what they call truth
Say your prays
To have knowledge
Useful knowledge that will bring you closer to your lord
Say your prays
Sending peace and blessing on to the soul of the prophet and on to his children and his wives and his companions
Say your prays,
Pray that you pray for the right things to pray for
Say your prays
That God will love you
And allow your hands to speak for you
And recall the righteous things you use to pray for
Say your prays
To have knowledge
Useful knowledge that will bring you closer to your lord
Say your prays

Muhammad, 1

The light from the moon
The stars in the sky
Gleaming like a diamond by the riverside
Oh Muhammad, you must know, how much we love you so

Ya Muhammad
Ya Muhammad
Be there peace with your name

Ya Muhammad
Ya Muhammad
Where so glad you came

Ya Allah
Its your mercy
You show us through Muhammad

Praise be to God
And peace to Muhammad

There's a place for people like you in heaven...

The one with faith
The one with knowledge
The one with strength
The one who loves
The faithful wife
The caring husband
The patient father
The dutiful daughter
The loving mother
The thankful son

Who all believe in the one
There's a place for you in heaven...

The last days

When the mountains would prostate
So high and so great
And yet we in meekness
Keep our backs straight
Who is it we believe is great?

When fajr is forgotten
But death is still a norm
When fear has crumbled
And hope is gone

When distrust is rampant
And the people are barely dressed
When there is openly lewdness
And sin causes no stress

When God is an afterthought
If a thought at all
When people cry for the loss of money
And pray for more from this world

When pain is fixed by taking drugs
When hands are used for violence
And tongues spew hatred

When the places of our forefathers
Are used for monetary gain
When a Muslim
Is the only one who remembers the purpose of life

When shaitain no longer has to try
And evil is wide spread
When the last ones to believe
Are long gone and dead

Look for the hereafter
Can't you hear his steps?

Read

There is no power
No might
And no ability
Save with Allah

And those who know this well
Are the only one's with tranquility
Allah knows best what makes some to stray and others to believe

Some open the quran and read
As if its just another book
While others open the quran
And wept
Asking Allah for his mercy

Some can read the Arabic
Yet still look away
While others read its meaning
And there hearts tremble with fear

What could we learn if we opened this holy book?
A direct link to God
His word
His message
The stories of old
His admonition
And hope

What are we reading if were not reading the book of God?
Are we letting ourselves be fooled by this world
So blind to our desires

In the holy book of our lord
Is where we'll find the answers
Don't let the pundits and the the philosophers let us lose grip of our faith

If we read the book we'd know that we must wait

For fortune comes to many
Yet God is always just
The evils ones will see there day and it will be enough

To suffice everything
Don't think that its a pity
That we miss out on this world
The book says it will crumble
One day it will be dust

And therefore if faith is sound
We'll be the one's to say
"We found the promise true
Allah, Allah have mercy on us
The peace belongs to you"

Hurry! Hurry!
Follow the path!

The truthful are waiting

Patiently waiting for their Lord's decree
The believers are worried
Their hands are up in their air
There praying for forgiveness

There looking out their windows at the destruction of the world
There for the young and old
For the boys and girls

They have all from beginning of time
Worshipped Allah (swt)
Not a picture or a shrine
From the one creator
of the heavens and earth

The one who has no partner
The one without children
The living
The living the eternal
The merciful creator

Seek the light
Before the light is dimmed on earth
Allah the sustainer

A pray from a lonely traveler

 Oh dear God
Wash my hands
So as to cleanse the filth they contain
Let me feast and be sustained by your bounty
Cause my eyes to take pleasure in your pleasure

Let my lonely walks
Challenge me to think of you

The human condition causes me to rot and decay
But with every despair it is to you I pray:
Dear lord forgive me of my sins

Capture me with the light of your deen
Cause me not to worry about this passing world
Focus my heart on remembrance of you
Cause me not to cry over the losses of this world
Help me to be happy in your pleasure
Help me to disdain sin in every measure

When I looked at the moon last night
I knew I understood
You were with me
Guiding me my Lord

Walking through the streets like a loner
On concrete roads
I never felt your presence more sincerely

2010/05/13

Not lost

Dear Lord,
I'd thought I'd forgotten you
But you pulled me back
You pulled me back
Dear lord,
I'd thought you' forgotten me
I was blinded
By worldly deities
Dear Lord,
I thought I was angry with you
But you treated me with love
Dear Lord I cursed the rain, and the struggles, and the heartaches of life
But you showed me mercy
You showed me compassion
Dear Lord,
I'd forgotten the little things
Which where not little at all
I turned my face from you
I'd given up on you
I thought I could make it through
But I was a liar
And I found out all to soon
That their was no good that could come without you
Oh Shaitan, how he called himself my friend?
Oh my whims and desires that begged me to go off
Without a care in the world I strayed
But this world laughed at me
Laughed at me!
They call me in only to laugh at me
Made me their slave only to laugh at me
And still the whispers stayed in my mind
allah ...........allah ...................allah
Until it became louder
Allah ..........Allah .........................Allah
Then it screamed at me
ALLAH ....................ALLAH ......................ALLAH!
Was it you? my conscious? my soul?
I could not bear it
I came running back
Without a care
Leaving possessions behind
I found you once again
And found that you had never lost me
And found that the highest ranking I could ever be
Was to bow my face in the dirt as your slave for eternity

A watered path

I know two paths that I can take
One is narrow, long and straight
The other is fast and crooked with bumps
Which one should I take?

One will take me across in seconds
Where more disaster waits
The other will take me to a holy and beautiful place
But this path will take me a lifetime to cross
Which one should I take?

One will take me no where in life
Though I may enjoy the ride
The other will cause me great pain and great strife
But will bring me
Great joy in the end
Which one should I take?

On one path is teachings of Quran and Sunnah
On the other lays the lies of the dunya
Which path should I take?

On one path I see scholars crying in remembrance of their Lord
On the other path I see thieves crying
Over a lost grain of salt
Which path should I take?

Oh sweet taste of jennah
Be like my tea
Both calm and comforting to me
Oh my Lord do not forget me
When I am weak and forget thee
Oh my Lord send down angels to be
guardians on to me

Oh my Lord open my eyes
When I am so blind that I can't see
The path that is so obvious for me
Grab me like Gabriel did Ahmed and show me to read

For when the human heart feels the truth
His eyes over flow
With wells of water

And maybe we'll cry so much
That our tears will become like rivers
And make our journey smooth
and easy

La Ilaha Ilala (There is not God but God)

Say one God
There's only one God
Say one God
La ilaha ilala

There's is one God
There is everything
I can do anything
There is one God

There are mountains
There are heavens
There are stars and the Moon
La ilaha ilala

Say it proudly
Scream it loudly
La ilaha ilala

LA ILAHA ILALA
LA ILAHA ILALA
LA ILAHA ILALA
LA ILAHA ILALA

There is only God and nothing else
There's is no page
To write words
Imagination is grave
Compared to my lord's extravagance

Take a bullet
Take my blood
But my spirit it is one
La ilaha ilala

God is the God of all
The meek and the strong
The kafr and the sincere
The jinn and the babies
La ilaha ilala

He is where
He whats to be
He heres you
He heres me
He knows my heart

Actions are nothing without intentions
Those who are loved
Receive ascension
With there lord they'll ponder in grace

La ilaha ilala
Know the trust is all right there
There is no God but God
There is no God but God

There is no truth without this fact
It is the only truth
Before all knowledge
Before you utter one word

Stop the noise
Dont utter a sound
Besides
La ilaha ilala

Know God is watching
Know God is listening
Know God is knowing
God is
God is
God is

God is
God is
God is
God is

There is no God but God
Don't dare say a word about
My Lord's creation
Don't spit out philosophy, math or, science

Don't say anything
Anything
Anything at all

There is no knowledge without
La ilaha ilala
There is absolutely no-thing
Without Allah

LA ILAHA ILALA
LA ILAHA ILALA

There is only God
Everything else is a manifestation of his greatness
Everything else makes sense

Say nothing not a word
LA ILAHA ILALA

Shade

The grass that grows
The trees that shade
Should cause man to stop and think

Not one could cause a plant to grow
Though the think they causest so
But if it be that you are
Then try to give the blind man sight

Or try to stop a human death
Or try to go right when he command you left
Control the time with your hand
Make food grow upon destitute land

Then ye know the truth indeed
Understand the will of God
None is better then our lord
He is better to be adored

Upon my rest
I'll think of thee
The one you save me from my self
The one who strengthens me with health
You rest me down to sleep
And bring me live from the dead

Please lord bless me one more night
To forbid what's wrong
And do what's right
So I be among heaven sent
And not among the burning dead.

An Open Letter to Our Beloved Prophet Mohammad (s)

My Soul is Longing for You (The Holy Prophet)

You are the light of our eyes.
Without you we are like orphans,
somehow scared and heartbroken.
Now we seek condolence in roses;
we see you in their beauty
and feel your smell in
their sweet scent.

We are so honoured to
be a part of your nation.
We love you dearly.
We admire and envy those
who love you even more.
You know how one waits and
longs for meeting with the
beloved. That's how we are
longing for our meeting with
you in Paradise.
We get encouraged and hopeful
with your saying "you are with
those whom you love" and
eagerly wait for our
meeting by the River
of Kawthar.

Our Lord the Exalted who created
you and made you His Beloved and asked
the believers to love you and follow
your example has taught us the prayers
of invoking Allah's blessings on you to
help ease our pain of missing you until
the day we meet in Paradise.

"Allah and His Angels send blessings
on the Prophet. O you who believe!
Send your blessings on him, and salute
him with all respect" (33:56).

Every time we ask Allah to send His
Peace and Blessings on you we also feel
the blessings of Allah on us.
We almost visualize the pigeons
of prayers that we set free in
the destination of Madinah reaching
to your blessed garden of rest and
you holding and pitting them gently.

The World Has Defeated Us
The world is a place of travel
and we are the passers by.
In this foreign land we often
trip over and fall into traps.
Our Lord, the Exalted, Who sent
us to this world has made you our
guide. He told us to follow your
example. We constantly remember
your guidance not to make a wrong
step; striving to be like you we
contemplate on every issue and think
how you would have acted if you were
among us now; how you would have
remembered and worshipped Allah
or deal with people or eat and sleep.
We consider you as more important
than our own lives and love those
who love and follow you.

O the best of all the Prophets

O the master of all messengers
Even though we consider it the
highest honour to sacrifice our
lives in the cause of Islam, we
have a difficulty in breaking
the idol of our own ego. You
reminded us that the World with
its sweetness and attractions
may deceive us.

You warned us of the danger of
attaching our hearts to the World.
You told us that the world and all
that is in it is of no real value.
You warned us against collecting
worldly properties.
You told us that we will be tested
with material gains and that the
real life we should strive for is
the Hereafter. You advised us to
be like a traveller passing by.
You did exactly what you told us
to do. There were time you did not
find a few pieces of date to eat.
From the time you honoured Madinah
until the day you passed away you
did not find to eat wheat bread
consecutively for three days.

O Rasoolullah,

O Habibullah,
the world has defeated us.
The world has become a giant
and we became like the dwarfs.

The Abolishment of Oppression

O Rasoolullah,
Our main goal is to strive
against our ego, to revive
ourselves with the guidance
your brought, to live like
a Muslim and to stay as a Muslim.
The World is playing tricks on us
coming up in different costumes,
telling us how to live our lives
and what to do and how to dress.
They do not give us the right to
live like a Muslim and like a
dignified human being. You have
abolished oppression with the
religion you brought and saved
the victims fragile necks from
the bloody hands of oppressors.
The way you saved humanity
fourteen thousand years ago
from oppression and injustice.

The victims, all their rights
were to be oppressed, revived.
The oppressors, never thought of
failure, died. Through the religion
you brought, the oppression has
collapsed. You were the answer for
the hopeless. You have brought the
value that the human being deserves.
Now the oppression awakened and wit
the strength it gained, it is pressing
down on our throats. Every time we
are faced with oppression we find
the condolence in you. We think of
the oppression you had gone through,
and can not help but think as if you
came to this world to endure hardship.
Remembering that you were an orphan
and all the other hardships you were
tested with is like an ointment on
our own injuries. We think of the
times that you were seeking guidance
in the mountain of Nur, tired of the
disorder in the World. We know that
the bats who were scared of the light
that you brought from the mountains
were disturbing you. Yet, you were
steadfast and patient despite all
this hardship. Just as we are about
to sink in the swamp of irrational
oppression, we reach out to the Rope
of Allah that you brought for us.
Once again we realize why Allah Had
Made you our guide and example. With
the pleasure of realizing that you
are a mercy to the World we shed tears.

From Humiliation to Exaltation

O Rasulallah,

O Habibullah,
We learned how to be a dignified human
being from you. With the religion you
brought, Allah Exalted us from humiliation
to sovereignty, from a hole to the citadel.
When we embraced Islam Allah Made us the
best of nations. We became the superpower
that others bent down on their
knees and opened their hands seeking help.
In those magnificent times that we ruled,
we followed your example in forbidding
evil and oppression and giving the
rights of the victims.
Unfortunately, as we shifted away from
the beauty of Islam we dried up, we got
oppressed, we bent down on our knees and
open our hands begging. Since then no one
takes us seriously nor treat us with a
worthy treatment. We want to wake up and
revive and come back to our senses and
raise from humiliation to sovereignty
and live as Muslims.

O beloved of the World!
We want our children to live like
Muslims, to follow your footsteps,
and to be saved from the Hellfire,
whose fuel will be people and stones.
We want those who try to prevent
us from our way to have mercy on us,
and to recognise us and to know that
we want nothing but the pleasure of
Allah. We ask Allah to Give them
guidance and to grant us patience
and success in our struggle.

O Rasulallah,
We truly want to be better
servants of Allah and better
believers again. We want to become
a nation you deserve and be proud
of. We want to be those successful
believers who humble themselves in
their prayers; who avoid vain talk;
who are active in giving Zakat; who
guard their modesty; who faithfully
observe their trust and their
covenants; and who guard their
prayers (23:1-11). These days,
one of the sayings that give us
hope and keep us going is that
you gave the glad tidings to those
servants of Allah who are oppressed
and are patient in enduring it will
be exalted by Allah. We have been
oppressed and humiliated and look
down on. However, we believed the
sovereignty belongs to Allah and
His Prophet and the believers (63:8).
We pray to Allah to be among those
who are patient and thus will
receive sovereignty and honor
that they deserve. We also pray
to be among those who will be
subjected to your intercession

on the day of judgement.

Ode to Prophet Muhammed

Why do you pray, Oh Prophet!
When God has promised you
Paradise
Shouldn't I be thankful
Is how my Prophet responds

Oh that he would spend
Hours and hours
Waking from bed
Praying and crying to his Lord

Shouldn't I be so thankful?
To have a Prophet
Whose only aim
Was to save my soul
From the torment of the hell fire

A fire so harsh
That its asks for relief
From its own self

Could you imagine that
Being so hot that your skin melts off?
Forgive me for not being discreet

But my prophet was given this warning
As a mercy to you and me

Oh Prophet!
Who cried for his ummah
In fear that we'd go astray

But Prophet we keep your words in our heart
Though sometimes we twist and bind them
Most times your words make us cry

Oh why?
Why did you have to leave us
Your followers!
Where left in shambles
With broken hearts
And empty souls

Trying to hold on to the past
Oh Prophet!
What kind of clothes did you wear?
Oh prophet!
Did you sit on the floor or a chair?
Oh Prophet!
What was your favorite food?

Oh Prophet I have a prophetic love for you
Which doesn't always translate to action
We try to do
Everything you tell us to

Praying the way you prayed
Fasting the way you fast
Crying for a glimpse of hope
In a world of utter darkness

Hoping for the ultimate chance
To follow you in to paradise
For Allah to see us
As one of your own
And forgive us in this life

Spilt like the Red Sea

God he shed his grace on me
But often times I do not see
The love he has just for me
I worry and I wonder if I am being who it is I should be

I should have cried when I read the words to your gracious book
But I held back tears because I fear what lay in shedding water
To let go of life and somehow try to live on
All the things I have acquired somehow seem to call

Away from you a dream they sell
A dream so near to sin
To be like those who smile and frolic on this earth we live

But for God how could I ask for time to worship another
The dreams I hold so dear to me so distant from each other
Split like the red sea
The sand beneath my feet
I pray that I follow Moses humbly and not Pharaoh in prideful defeat

For love of God cannot combine with love of worldly desires

Good and evil

Good and evil are not the same
Lest we forget
Though evil may be abundant
Good and evil are not the same

Though evil may call your name
Good and evil are not the same
It sparkles and shines in this life
Its ugliness is hidden by bright lights

And the good may seem ugly at times
Good an evil are not the same
It is hard for me to smile at you
And say it will be easy
Because I for one know it won't be

Good and evil are not the same
Abundant evil grows
And pure good we seldom know
But only good is worth having

For this life goes as fast as it comes
Allah is one
We suffer for him
So choose good and I will try the same
Good is not the same as evil
Though evil is abundant
